A sharp rise in bottom-line performance defined Tosoh Corporation’s first half of the fiscal year ending September 30, with net profit climbing to 26.77 billion yen from 7.38 billion yen during the same period last year, according to financial results released under Japanese accounting standards.

The Tokyo-based chemical manufacturer reported a significant expansion in revenue, reaching 579.68 billion yen compared to 499.14 billion yen in the previous year. Operating profit followed a similar upward trajectory, rising to 49.39 billion yen from 44.74 billion yen, while pretax profit reached 49.18 billion yen against the prior 45.74 billion yen.

Shareholders saw earnings per share jump to 86.93 yen, a substantial increase from the 23.21 yen recorded in the prior half-year period. Diluted earnings per share mirrored this growth, settling at 86.92 yen compared to 23.20 yen previously.
