A steep decline in profitability defined Kurita Water Industries' latest half-year results, with net profit dropping to 7.40 billion yen from 17.17 billion yen in the same period last year. Kurita Water Industries Profit Slumps as Operational Costs Rise

The Japanese firm, reporting under IFRS accounting standards, saw its operating profit contract sharply to 9.54 billion yen, down from 25.41 billion yen a year earlier. This contraction cascaded through the financial statements, leaving pretax profit at 11.22 billion yen, less than half of the 25.22 billion yen recorded in 2025. Consequently, earnings per share fell to 68.71 yen, compared with 155.90 yen in the previous year's corresponding term. The widening gap between top-line revenue growth and shrinking margins highlights mounting challenges in maintaining profitability amid shifting market conditions.
