Uber, Stellantis and Wayve Partner to Deploy Global Robotaxi Fleet

Uber Technologies is shifting its autonomous strategy toward fully driverless transport, signing a non-binding agreement with Jeep manufacturer Stellantis and AI developer Wayve. The coalition aims to integrate Level 4 self-driving systems into the ride-hailing giant’s global network, moving beyond the supervised vehicle technology currently in use.

Stellantis will provide the underlying vehicle platforms, while Wayve supplies the artificial intelligence driving software required for full autonomy. This collaboration focuses on the technical hurdles of vehicle integration, safety validation, and large-scale deployment across urban centers in North America and Europe.

While the memorandum of understanding outlines the path for future development, licensing, and vehicle procurement, it stops short of an exclusive commitment. All three companies retain the right to pursue parallel partnerships in the self-driving sector, leaving the competitive landscape for autonomous ride-sharing fluid as the firms move from testing to commercial scaling.
