Rumble Rebrands as Rum Group Following Northern Data Acquisition

With the acquisition of Northern Data AG now complete, video platform Rumble is pivoting into the high-stakes world of cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The company, which has secured 85% of Northern Data’s shares, intends to operate under a new parent entity, Rum Group, to manage its dual-focus business model.

The deal transitions Rumble from a content-only platform into a provider of AI compute-as-a-service, backed by roughly 250 megawatts of energized and planned power capacity. By integrating Northern Data—now rebranded as Quake AI—the company plans to leverage machine-learning infrastructure to support its existing ecosystem of advertisers, creators, and users.

Chief Executive Chris Pavlovski described the shift as a move toward a new tier of business fundamentals, citing the quality of the newly acquired infrastructure and its associated partnerships. Under the reorganized structure, the company will bifurcate its operations: the original video platform will maintain the Rumble name, while Quake AI will handle the technical backbone. Pavlovski framed the strategy as a synergy between human creativity and automation, suggesting that while AI provides the foundation for knowledge, the platform provides the necessary voice for human imagination.
