Clorox Consolidates Executive Ranks Amid CEO Transition

As Clorox prepares for the departure of CEO Linda Rendle, the consumer goods giant is narrowing its leadership hierarchy to sharpen its focus on core health and hygiene categories. The company confirmed a series of executive shifts Wednesday, designed to streamline decision-making and accelerate innovation across its product portfolio.

Clorox Consolidates Executive Ranks Amid CEO Transition

Chris Hyder, formerly president of the Health & Hygiene group, steps into the newly consolidated role of chief operating officer effective immediately. By uniting business unit leadership under a single executive, the company aims to move with greater agility. Nina Barton, who previously led the Care & Connection group, transitions to the newly created position of chief growth & strategy officer, where she will manage innovation and long-term planning.

These organizational adjustments follow Rendle’s announcement last month that she would step down to focus on her health following a diagnosis of early-stage breast cancer. While Rendle remains cancer-free, the company board has engaged an outside firm to search for her successor. Rendle emphasized that the refined structure is intended to drive stronger results by concentrating resources on the business units showing the most significant growth.
