Bitget Bridges Crypto and Equities With Stock+ Launch

Bitget has introduced Stock+, a feature allowing users to purchase U.S. equities directly with cryptocurrency. By converting digital assets into USDC stablecoins, the exchange aims to provide exposure to traditional financial markets without requiring users to navigate the friction of separate banking and brokerage systems.

The new service distinguishes itself from synthetic derivatives by granting users ownership of actual underlying shares through regulated brokerages. This structure ensures that holders are entitled to cash dividends and adjustments from stock splits. Trading sessions for these assets are synchronized with U.S. market hours, covering pre-market, regular, and after-hours periods. CEO Gracy Chen highlighted that the platform is prioritizing genuine asset ownership to effectively bridge the gap between digital and traditional finance.

Bitget has currently listed over 500 U.S. stocks and ETFs, including major names like Tesla, Nvidia, and SpaceX. The launch complements the exchange’s earlier introduction of 'Reality,' a protocol providing 1:1-backed tokenized assets. While the tokenized model offers on-chain exposure, Stock+ functions more like a traditional brokerage environment, even allowing users to transfer existing equity holdings from other brokers into their Bitget portfolio.

To drive adoption, the exchange has set base trading fees at 0.1%, with a 50% discount running through August 31, 2026. This move positions Bitget alongside competitors like Binance and Gate, which are similarly racing to consolidate stocks, commodities, and digital assets into single, unified trading interfaces. As these platforms evolve, the success of such models will depend heavily on the regulatory frameworks and broker partnerships governing each region.
