Tenaya Therapeutics Taps Eric Hyllengren as Finance Chief

Hyllengren brings a deep resume to the South San Francisco-based firm, having most recently served as CFO at Zura Bio. His background includes a 15-year tenure at Amgen, where he climbed the ranks across investor relations and business development, alongside an operational leadership role at Atara Biotherapeutics. He enters the company as it advances three separate candidates, including two programs showing early clinical promise in safety and efficacy.

The transition coincides with the departure of Hiro Higa, Tenaya’s current senior vice president of finance. Higa plans to retire in the third quarter but will stay on as a consultant to manage the handover of accounting functions. The company confirmed the leadership shuffle is unrelated to Higa’s exit.
