Fortune Brands Taps Jesse Singh as CEO Following Leadership Shakeup

After months of executive volatility and investor pressure, Fortune Brands Innovations has appointed Jesse Singh as its new chief executive officer. The veteran industrial leader, formerly at the helm of The Azek Company, joins the board effective Monday to stabilize a company that recently abandoned a previous succession plan.

The appointment marks a definitive pivot for the building-products supplier. In March, the company abruptly scrapped its selection of Amit Banati for the top spot following vocal opposition from investor Ed Garden, who argued Banati lacked the requisite experience to steer the firm. Singh arrives with a resume built at 3M and GE, bringing a mandate to restore confidence among shareholders.

Alongside the CEO transition, David Barry—who served as interim leader during the search—has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer. While the leadership team takes shape, the company maintains its search for a permanent chief financial officer, with Ashley George continuing in the interim role. Furthermore, Non-Executive Board Chair Susan Kilsby is taking direct oversight of the Fiberon business unit as the board conducts a strategic review of its future within the company’s portfolio.
