General Mills Recalls 700,000 Units of Pillsbury Dough Over Glass Risks

More than 700,000 units of Pillsbury dough are being pulled from shelves following reports of potential glass contamination. The voluntary recall, which spans two specific product lines, was elevated to a Class II designation by the Food and Drug Administration this week, signaling a need for immediate consumer caution.

The recall targets 2.25-ounce hard roll dough items bearing lot numbers 11JUN6JL and 12JUN6JL, alongside 2.5-ounce kaiser roll dough products marked with lot number 12JUN6JL. General Mills initiated the move in June, though the formal FDA classification followed on Monday.

Under federal guidelines, a Class II recall identifies products that pose a risk of temporary or medically reversible health consequences. While the probability of severe injury is considered remote, the presence of foreign material in food manufacturing remains a critical safety concern. Consumers in possession of these specific lots should discontinue use and check packaging against the identified batch numbers to ensure safety.
